Ti Rakau Drive
What is happening on Tī Rākau Drive?
Between William Roberts Road and Gossamer Drive, new stormwater pipes will be installed to help prevent flooding. During construction, eastbound traffic ( towards Botany) on Tī Rākau Drive will be temporarily redirected onto the new central busway lanes, with the work site occupying the eastbound lanes. The project involves installing larger, higher-capacity stormwater pipes and rebuilding the road surface. Watercare will also be upgrading the watermain in this area.
Pre-Construction (13–15 February)
Traffic will be redirected into the central lanes. Traffic lights will be switched off on 13–14 February, with traffic controllers managing vehicle movements ( please see graphic Stage 1 and Stage 2 attached). The long-term traffic layout takes effect from Sunday, 15 February ( see graphic Stage 3)
During Construction on Tī Rākau Drive (16 February – Late 2026)
• Duration: Approximately 5 weeks of disruption per property along Tī Rākau Drive ( towards Botany) as work progresses
• Traffic: Two lanes remain open in both directions
• Dust and noise: Controlled using water carts and noise mats on temporary fencing
• Property access (east side): Resident-only entry via Site Access Points opposite Roseburn Place and Edgewater Drive East, with 24/7 traffic personnel from 12–20 February
• Chevis Place: Residents only, with left turns out maintained
• Marriott Road: Resident access only at times; closed during work with signed detours
• Driveways: Daytime restrictions where work is occurring, reinstated overnight where possible; temporary car parking available
• Pedestrians: Footpaths and crossings remain open with temporary changes and signage
• Trees: Carefully removed in February where necessary to access pipes underneath
• Bus stops: Relocated to middle lanes with signage
We appreciate your patience during this important infrastructure upgrade.
